Summer Session: Harmony at Home
The significance of anticipation, gratitude, boredom, & even the occasional ‘No” to achieve harmony
Session Description
During these classes, we will learn about the term “soul fever” and why our children look to us as their safe harbour. We will discuss why filtering out the adult world for as long as possible (or at least keeping it age-appropriate) draws a better parallel with the pace of childhood, and we will determine when things are getting out of hand. Through large group discussions and small group work, we will look at the book "Being at Your Best When Your Children Are at Their Worst" and "Simplicity Parenting" to determine why it is actually a good thing for children to learn how to: - Exercise patience and gratitude, - Build impulse control and anticipation skills, - Hear the word “No” from time to time. This session includes two classes that shall take place Saturday May 11th & 25th (1:30-4:00pm) OR Monday May 13th & 27th (6:30-9:00pm), 2024. When you register for this session, you are committing to attending both classes; price includes access to the Simplicity Parenting Parents Forum and resources.
